EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

LIZ AUDIE

Customer Service Representative, Customer Service

Liz Audie

How long have you been with MMQCI and how did you first learn about our company?
I have been with MMQCI for two years now.  I first noticed the building back in 2020 while on a walk on the Eastern Trail with my mom and sister.  We were all intrigued by the colorful DNA helix on the building’s exterior so my mom found the website and sent it to me.

What are your primary responsibilities?
As a customer service rep, I confirm, process and review orders to ensure that our quality controls arrive to our customers in pristine condition.  Along with domestic customers, I’ve started handling some of our international customers located in Canada, the UK, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore.

Describe MMQCI in three words:
Dedicated, Collaborative, Growth

What do you like best about MMQCI?
The people who work here!  Since day 1 of my career at MMQCI, each and every person I have crossed paths with has been very warm and welcoming.  Whether someone passes by you in the hallway, or you’re in the breakroom, you are always greeted with a smile.

How would you describe your team?
The customer service team works hard to provide the best service possible to our customers.  I always think of how I would want to be treated if I were in the customer’s shoes, and my team definitely delivers some top-notch service.

What are some of the biggest changes you’ve seen since joining MMQCI?
When I first started working here, the building was in the midst of expansion.  Everyone in the company had to work on the first floor and now that the beautiful second floor has been completed, it’s amazing to think that we all fit down here in the first place!

What are the toughest challenges you’ve had at work?
When some of your customers are on the other side of the world, you have to deal with time zone differences…Thank goodness for email!

What has your experience been with our company culture?
My experience has been nothing but positive.  The teamwork that happens throughout all the departments is great.  Everyone is willing to help out wherever assistance may be needed.  It’s nice to work for a company where you truly feel like your voice is heard.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to go to the beach, go for walks/jogs outside, and have a girl’s night out to dinner with my mom and sister.

Where is your happy place in Maine?
My happy place in Maine is my camp on Sebago Lake.  My grandparents had a camp up there that my dad has been going to since he was a kid and I’ve been lucky enough to be camping up there ever since I was born.

What’s one thing that’s on your “Bucket List”?
The furthest place I’ve travelled to is Florida, so it would be nice to branch out and go somewhere outside of the country, preferably a place that’s warm and tropical.

What do you enjoy most about working here?
I think one of the best things about working for MMQCI is knowing that our controls, which are manufactured and developed right here in Saco, ME are reaching facilities not just throughout the USA, but all over the globe.  It’s rewarding to know our small, yet ever-growing lab produces products that are important in diagnostic testing and ensure confidence with the results of those tests.

Where were you born and raised?
I was born and raised in Biddeford, ME.

Who are some of your biggest inspirations, and why?
I’m the youngest of two, so I would have to say my sister is definitely one person I’ve always looked up to.  She is a hard worker, very trusting, and always gives the best advice.  I’m very grateful to have a built-in best friend for life.

How have you grown professionally since you’ve joined the MMQCI team?
I have established and maintained great relationships with customers all over the world.

What, if anything, are you currently binge-watching? Or reading?
Currently watching The Bear.  Currently reading Anxious People by Fredrik Backman.

What is something about you that most people don’t know?
I’m a lefty when I write, just like many of my fellow MMQCI coworkers, but I do just about everything else as a righty (throw/kick a ball, swing a bat, etc.)!

What best advice can you give someone who might be interested in joining us here at MMQCI?
Take a chance and apply.  Explore our website to see if there are any positions of interest.  There’s always room for growth and opportunity here.
