QC Technician I

How long have you been with MMQCI and how did you first learn about our company?
Almost 2 years now—I found this job right out of grad school.
What are your primary responsibilities?
As a QC Technician, we oversee testing all of the product we make to ensure it holds up to the highest standards. We also help R &D with the launch of new products.
What do you like best about MMQCI?
The people here really care about each other! There’s a great sense of community.
How would you describe your team?
Tight knit—as a small team, we’ve become great friends. We understand each other, so we communicate really well and can pivot at a moment’s notice.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to hike and spend time outdoors. My favorite pastime is travelling to dig for rocks, minerals, and fossils. The geography of New England is fascinating!
What’s the most unique part about working at MMQCI?
As a member of the QC team, I get to wear a lot of different hats. I get to work with the R&D, Manufacturing, and even Technical Operations teams, and really get to learn about every step in our company’s processes.
Where is your happy place in Maine?
Timber Point—I proposed on that beach in 2024.
What’s one thing that’s on your “Bucket List”?
I’ve got to find a Megalodon tooth for my collection… I hope to plan that dig soon!
Where were you born and raised?
I was born in NJ and raised in southern NH.
Who are some of your biggest inspirations, and why?
I grew up watching David Attenborough, Steve Irwin, Jeremy Wade and the like on TV. They’ve instilled in me a lifelong passion for nature and wildlife.
How have you grown professionally since you’ve joined the MMQCI team?
I feel like this job has helped me fully transition from the world of academia to the world of industry. Two years in and I’m still learning a lot!
What, if anything, are you currently binge-watching? Or reading?
The last book I read was The Light Eaters, by Zoe Schlanger.
What is something about you that most people don’t know?
I have a lizard! My crested gecko is 4 years old and is my pride and joy.
