How long have you been with MMQCI and how did you first learn about our company?
I have been with the company a little over 2 years. I found a job posting on Indeed for the Laundry and Lab Assistant. I was looking for a job in the field that I could use not only to finish my degree but also get my start into a Biotechnology career.
What are your primary responsibilities?
My primary responsibilities are to assemble and label tubes/bottles, fill tubes/bottles with product, kit tubes/bottles to go out to customers, inspect kits before release to the shelves to be sold. I also have to make sure paperwork and SOPs are completed properly.
Describe MMQCI in three words:
Quality. Positive. Teamwork.
What do you like best about MMQCI?
I love the work that I do but my coworkers are my favorite part. No matter what is thrown our way we work together to get it done, keep each other motivated and entertained while we do it.
How would you describe your team?
Hard working and amazing. We work seamlessly together no matter what the project or if we have to change gears. We are a “go-with-the-flow” kind of team that is ready for everything!
What are some of the biggest changes you’ve seen since joining MMQCI?
The company has been growing and so has the number of products that we as a team are filling and kitting.
What are the toughest challenges you’ve had at work?
Some of the toughest challenges are getting new processes in place. We are adjusting how we do some tasks so getting the flow of it right takes a little work in the beginning. As a team we work out the issues so that we can work more efficiently while filling and kitting quality products.
What has your experience been with our company culture?
Amazing. Everyone is so nice and caring towards each other. I like the fact that everyone pretty much knows everyone in all the departments. It is a very positive environment to be in.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to read, play Stardew Valley, go to concerts and crochet in my free time! Right now, I am working on making different kinds of banana animals!
Where is your happy place in Maine?
My happy place in Maine is where my family is while we are out on an adventure. I love finding new places to hike and swim.
What’s one thing that’s on your “Bucket List”?
To go to Japan when the cherry blossoms are in bloom.
What do you enjoy most about working here?
I love my coworkers. They make every day enjoyable to come to work and create amazing products for our customers.
Where were you born and raised?
I was born in Salt Lake City Utah and raised in Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
Who are some of your biggest inspirations, and why?
My husband and my kids are my biggest inspirations. My husband has been my biggest supporter while changing careers. He motivated me to look for a Biotech job while I finished my degree. As for my kids, they inspire me to work harder to create the best version of myself so that I can tell them proudly about the work that I do.
How have you grown professionally since you’ve joined the MMQCI team?
I have learned and refined many skills that I need to use in the lab. I have also gotten a lot more confidence in teaching others new skills and processes that we use in everyday work.
What, if anything, are you currently binge-watching? Or reading?
Currently I am binge watching the Kingdom on Netflix!
What is something about you that most people don’t know?
I have 4 titanium plated ribs from an ATV accident when I was 18.
